Down In the Alley

Thu May 22, 2003 8:23 am

i just got a cd-r copy of the Unsurpassed Masters Set with the dubbed version of "Down In The Alley".

it's the first time I have heard it and was wondering if someone could tell me the story behind it.

i ,of course, don't have a copy of the booklet that was included in the box set . so i don't know if the answer to my question is within its pages.

for those who have not heard this. someone took the studio recording of "Down In The Alley", and added screaming girls and a spoken intro from a guy who sounds like George Klien, to make it sound like its a live performance.

anybody know ?

Don't have the Unsurpassed Masters set, but I do have this on the 1998 Shake Records CD: 'Tiger Man Vol.1 - An Alternate Anthology'.

No idea who did the overdubs; it seems a lot of trouble to go to and adds nothing to the track !

While looking at this CD, I notice it says:

"Coming soon ! Volume Two with unreleased material of the 70's"

Well, it's been five years now and we're still waiting !
