Re: What are you listening to right now?
Oh WOW!!! An awesome find. Pretty moving stuff to hear this. ROY ORBISON LEGEND !!!
ROY ORBISON - interview, MIDWEST COUNTRY COUNTDOWN - September 1973...
From the Walter Vaughn WIL-AM/FM archives, St. Louis, Missouri - a telephone interview with Roy Orbison, recorded in September 1973. Roy discusses his dissatisfaction with MGM records, who have just released his last LP for the label, 'Milestones'.
Taken from archive tapes and presumed to not have been heard since originally broadcast on-air.
and so here now is Roy's version of "Drift Away" from his album "Milestones" released, 1973.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
how are you my friends?
Am up early here in adelaide SA. Am getting prepared to tape on my Panny DVD hard-drive, a couple of war classics in 'The Cruel Sea' and a tad later after, 'The Great Escape'.
All week long our television has been airing about 8-9 war epics of the 40's, 50's and 60's, probably to coincide with ANZAC Day memorials.
This is the original theme on The Great Escape movie i'm so fond of:

You've never walked in that man's shoes or seen things through his eyes
Or stood and watched with helpless hands while the heart inside you dies
So help your brother along the road no matter where you start
For the God that made you, made them too, these men with broken hearts

Re: What are you listening to right now?
hey my friends, I am going to make some changes. Out will be the recurring "1974 was 50 years ago" and "1924 was 100 years ago" theme (both of which have had a good run) and starting up a new feature on this thread - recurring three-packs on singer-songwriter icon, Neil Diamond and Neil Diamond covers, AYE
First up... Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Bobby Darin...sings Neil Diamond ! Note. How these three differ from Diamond originals arrangement. Wonderful stuff AYE
