Re: What are you listening to right now?
In the last few days ive been playing Mark Knopfler`s new album.
Big fan of some of the Dire Straits releases as well as some solo stuff.
The latest release is…imo…not his best and strangely I like some of the bonus tracks the best.

The Doors. We Could Be So Good Together - Canada, original Mono
This unique The Doors record was released in March 1968 to promote their Waiting For The Sun album released in July. They were still using the outdated early 1960s yellow label on Elektra singles in Canada, but it is so cool looking.
This mono mix is different from the album version, which you can here anywhere on Youtube.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
let's now have another listen to Roy Orbison.Southbound Jericho Parkway - Original Mono 45
This awesome dark-themed record was A-Side in the USA on MGM label (March 1969) whilst across the Atlantic, LONDON records turned it into a B-Side where "My Friend" was made "A" Side (April 1969).
Really daft move, London records

Hey my friends. This is a very good channel if you like Elvis 50's material:
"The Condor Recordings is a YouTube channel that features non-commercial music from various genres and artists. The channel claims to use music from its own archive and collections, and to serve educational purposes. You can check out the channel here: The Condor Recordings."
*(1958) RCA ''King Creole'' (Take 3 First Version) Elvis Presley
*(1958) RCA ''Hard Headed Woman'' (Take 10 Complete with Count-In) Elvis Presley

Re: What are you listening to right now?
"Elvis Golden Records" 1967 re-issue RCA Victor Red Seal with Black Dot logo.
It sounds dynamic but is overwhelmed by the pops and other unwanted sounds.
Poor condition (cleaned by ultrasonics and a vacuum machine, it is beyond redemption). 5 minutes in and switching to something else now, this just too bad. Still, it is 57 years old, same age as me.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
I have just read the sticker on the front "Heartbreak Hotel 40th Anniversary" so, 1996. Funny how you can have something for so long and yet forget things about it. I did not really look at it when I took the tape out to play. Even this tape is 28 years old now. Time slips away...Walter Hale 4 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 2:15 pmMustv'e been in relation to the made-for-TV documentary "Elvis '56" made in 1987, I Think the year was.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Tom Jones once waxed Tupelo Mississippi Flash in 1967 (released on 45 in 1970).
What do you reckon my friends? Is it a send-up by Jerry Reed (the writer) on his buddy, Elvis?
