The packaging is quite nice, a trifold full color card stock cover with pictures from the show. The CD itself comes in a slipcover (resembling a heavy sandwich bag). One of the things you’ll notice is the very good sound quality-equal to Fort Baxter. The show itself is quite good, but not outstanding. I say that because there are no real highlights or any particular performances that really stand out. This particular CD ranks along side with the numerous recordings that have emerged from this time period. Unfortunately, the song selection varied little from show to show, or for that matter, tour to tour.
The concert itself is not complete. Missing were the following-2001, CC Rider and 1/2 of I Got A Women. To solve the problem, Pegasus added 2001, CC Rider and 1/2 of I Got A Women from DAE’s Let Me Take You Home (Memphis, June 10, 1975) and Jambalaya from Fort Baxter’s A Profile, Vol. 1 (Lake Charles, May 4, 1975).
I was looking forward to hearing The Wonder of You, one of my all time favorites. An average, yet amusing version is featured, with Elvis singing you give me hope and constipation..... Another favorite of mine from the 70’s is T.R.O.U.B.L.E. Elvis introduces as a new record and goes into a fair version of it. Also anticipated was Help Me Make It Through The Night (not one of the better versions, but enjoyable) which leads into until the next time we see you, may God bless you...
To sum up, It’s pretty much a standard show featuring no real highlights. The sound quality is very good, making this a worthwhile addition to your collection.
