Prepared and researched for FTD by Robert Frieser / Hans Slebos ( 'Forty Eight Hours To Memphis' and '3000 South Paradise Road') this release will be presented in 7" format accompanied by 16-page 4-color booklet and extensive liner notes. April 2013

Following the success of WELCOME HOME ELVIS and FROM MEMPHIS TO HOLLYWOOD, Flaming Star productions will release SUMMER OF ’61 in April of this year. The focus is on the summer months of 1961, with the main focus on the making of the movie FOLLOW THAT DREAM filmed on location in Florida in the months July and August 1961.

The book presents original newspaper articles, new exclusive interviews from the cast, the crew, and local residents, and also details about scenes deleted from the final print. The book includes over 200 stunning unpublished photos taken from the original negatives + a CD (detail about the accompanying disc will be provided as soon as possible).

December 2012 FTD Releases

“3000 SOUTH PARADISE ROAD” – 2CD
This 2 disc 7” 16-pages booklet release, takes a closer look at Elvis’ engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton in August of 1972. The main disc is from the dinner show on August 12, and the second disc is culled from the rehearsals on August 4th, the date of the opening of the engagement.
As with “48 HOURS TO MEMPHIS”, this release has been prepared by Robert Frieser and Hans Slebos, who once again has done a fabulous job of collecting information and materials for the project. There will be additional information in the next few weeks.
“3000 South Paradise Road” provides a unique experience of Elvis rehearsing, 6 hours before the opening night at the Las Vegas Hilton on August 4, 1972. As disc 2 is captured on a personal tape recorder, the sonic quality is below standards, but historical significance more than compensates for its audio limitations. Disc 1 is a soundboard recording.

3 New FTD Releases

On October 15, FTD will be releasing 2 new 7” 2-CD Classic Albums and one new vinyl album:
Released in 1976, FROM ELVIS PRESLEY BOULEVARD contained 10 tracks recorded at Elvis’ home Graceland. Now issued as part of Follow That Dream’s ‘classic album’ series, this 7” 2-CD version contains many outtakes and a 12-page booklet with historic info and memorabilia.

Originally released in the UK in 1974, this newly expanded edition of “HITS OF THE 70s”offers a superb overview of Elvis’ greatest songs in the ‘70s. While the album doesn’t feature any outtakes, it does have a substantially expanded track-listing that now features 24 A & B sides and bonus track “My Way.” The 12-page booklet features both UK and US sleeves, release/chart information and historic overview. This is its first official release on CD.

Following on from “That’s The Way It Is (special edition)”, FTD vinyl is pleased to announce the follow-up “ELVIS COUNTRY (special edition)”.

Latest update on "A Boy From Tupelo"

The latest info on the release of the decade is that the book will weight approx. 5 KG, and the release date is scheduled for August 1st. Only 3000 copies will be printed and the price is also known and will be around the €99 euro
The book will contain 512 pages and three CD's (which features 10 unreleased tracks). There will be 500 pictures and 200 are unpublished and it will be similair as "Young Man With The Big Beat". On the three CD's you will have the masters and the outtakes plus private recordings. Furthermore a 50's concert and radio recordings. Besides the beautiful pictures you will find anecdotes, documentation, etc.

'A Boy From Tupelo - Complete 53-55 Recordings'

“A BOY FROM TUPELO – THE COMPLETE 1953-55 RECORDINGS” includes for the first time in one collection every known Elvis Presley SUN master and outtake, plus two private records Elvis paid for with his own money, as well as thrilling radio and concert performances from the period. This 3 CD package features 10 previously-unreleased cuts.

The accompanying book is, in essence, a fully-illustrated travelogue. It thoughtfully details the birth of Elvis' career through facts, anecdotes, documentation, many rare photos, and a succinct narrative. Independence Day 1954 is when this uniquely American saga begins, less than 24 hours before his first professional recording session, and it ends in December 1955, when the rights to Elvis' SUN tapes officially expire, and the singer leaves Sam Phillips to record for RCA. This is Elvis Presley before he becomes world-famous, and the mystery of how this amazing young man readies himself for stardom, achieving success on a level that no one could have dreamed possible.

All audio has been re-mastered and restored as best we could, but Disc 3 has pretty rough audio. The book is 512 pages in 12” by 12” format and includes more than 500 photos of which about 200 are previously unpublished. If you are not an expert in this period of Elvis’ career, a lot more photos will be new to you. Many familiar photos will be seen in best ever quality, but since this is a historical document, there will also be many images of less quality, included for their rarity value and support of the story. The book also includes, for the first time, Steve Sholes’ original notes on the Sun tapes.

The project will come in a slip case (like “YOUNG MAN WITH THE BIG BEAT”) that holds both the book and the CD holder (a double album type package).

April FTD Releases

By the end of the month of April, FTD will provide a new CD, book and vinyl album:
“ANOTHER SATURDAY NIGHT”
If one place is to be picked as the most important in the career of Elvis Presley, it is without doubt Shreveport in the northwest part of Louisiana. The exposure that Elvis got through the radio broadcast of The Louisiana Hayride in 1954-56 was one of the key factors of establishing the early part of his career. With the exception of Las Vegas, there is no place where Elvis played more shows, and his return to the city in 1975 was like a homecoming to both Elvis and the many fans he had there since he started out. We have chosen to release the sound board from the evening show of June 7 – definitely a show that Elvis and the audience truly enjoy, and with a great set list featuring old and new favorites. The CD comes in a 5” digipack with an eight-page booklet featuring photos from the June 1975 tour.

“WELCOME HOME ELVIS 1960”
Flaming Star, in collaboration with FTD, publishes a 260 pages book about the vital weeks in 1960 where Elvis regained control over his career. The format is the same as the well-known FTD book format (KING CREOLE-THE MUSIC and A MOMENT IN TIME). The book includes: More than 300 photos, many of them previously unpublished, text by David English and a CD with the original mono master for “ELVIS IS BACK”. March Releases from FTD

Expected to be released in the beginning of March, are these three titles: In the classic album series FTD will release the "ON STAGE – FEBRUARY, 1970" album. As usual, it will be a 2-disc 7" digipack with a 12-page booklet. In addition to the original album the set will include all RCA's recordings from three of the shows. In addition FTD will be releasing a 2-disc 5" version of the original "OUR MEMORIES OF ELVIS" albums, with an added bonus of the previously unreleased volume 3 LP master tape, as well as six more cuts that series producer Joan Deary had prepared at the time. This will come with a 12-page booklet of memorabilia and photos. The "undubbed" Elvis has always been a favorite with many fans, and listening to these again, is an experience full of pleasant surprises. Danish Familie Journal Elvis CD Series

The genre series is once again being recycled by Sony, as you can now purchase a CD each week here together with the Danish weekly magazine FAMILIE JOURNAL. The series is now called “100% Elvis”. Price of each CD is about 5.50 euros. The first CD, Rock, was issued on October 11th and a carton housing box for the whole series was also included. The next ones were: R&B (18/10), Movies (25/10) and Inspirational (1/11). Packaging on these releases is rather dull, with the same publicity shot from “Jailhouse Rock” on all covers. In the coming weeks, we will also be getting: Country (8/11), Love (15/11), Live (22/11) and Christmas (29/11). All in all a nice way of introducing Elvis’ music to a new audience, but it’s a pity that this series was not presented in a more attractive and original way.

KING CREOLE-THE MUSIC is a 200-page book with images exclusively designed to complement the music from the film. It consists of two main sections; the recording sessions on January 16, 1958 and song scenes from the filming of the movie (including behind-the scenes shots). The images are classic and well-known shots with the majority being previous unpublished and taken by the original still photographers on the set (no freeze-frames) .The accompanying CD consist of  the masters and the well-known alternative masters (no unreleased session reels have been found). Please be advised that on June 21st, FTD will be releasing a deluxe edition of Elvis’ GRAMMY AWARD winning album HOW GREAT THOU ART. HOW GREAT THOU ART is a 2-DISC SET in the CLASSIC ALBUM series. A Minnesota Moment

 

"A Minnesota Moment will be released on February 15, 2010. It features Elvis’ live performance on October 17, 1976 at Metropolitan Sports Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bonus songs are from Dayton and Sioux Falls on the same tour. This release continues FTD’s ambition to make shows available from as many of Elvis’ tours as we possibly can. During the first 6 months of 2010, FTD will aim to release every 6 weeks, commencing with the February 15 release.

There will be further announcements by the end of January, but it has been decided that the April 1 release will be a “Classic album” 2 CD set.

GOOD TIMES is a 2-disc set in the classic album series. Sony Music Entertainment will celebrate the 75th anniversary of The King's birthday in style with the release of Elvis Presley: 50 Australian Top Ten Hits 1956-1977 in Australia on January 8, 2010.

This double CD set is the first ever Elvis Presley Australian hits compilation. Together with the 50 hit songs, an 18 page booklet containing specially written liner notes and images of original RCA releases, and CD label art inspired by his first album release, the set provides a unique insight into Elvis Presley's popularity in Australia, a country where he managed an incredible twenty-year streak of placing hits on the singles charts.

Expect such hits as 'Heartbreak Hotel', his first Top Ten hit which peaked at #3 in July 1956. Others include 'Jailhouse Rock' (November 1957), 'Can't Help Falling In Love' (December 1961), 'In the Ghetto' (July 1969) and 'Suspicious Minds' (October 1969). Rockin’ Across Texas will be released in October as a 2-CD 5” set. It features Elvis live in Amarillo, Texas at the Civic Center, June 19, 1974 and Fort Worth, Texas at the Tarrant County Convention Center, Recorded July 3, 1976. This CD only version contains the same content as featured in the acclaimed FTD book that is now deleted.

Elvis : New Haven 76 

Following on from his appearance in Fort Worth, Elvis rocked New Haven, Connecticut on July 30 at the Veterans’ Memorial Coliseum. Featuring photos from Steve Barile’s archives, New Haven ’76 is a 1-CD 5” digipack.  

A credible live version of Return To Sender is featured as a bonus track from Hampton Roads Coliseum on August 1, 1976.

There is no IN AND OUTTAKES section to the booklet, as FTD will be releasing JAILHOUSE ROCK VOL. 2 next year, and it will make more sense to have this section when the entire intended repertoire content is released.

FTD Vinyl next release is a limited edition 2-Disc vinyl set of THE JUNGLE ROOM SESSIONS. Supplied in a new gatefold sleeve featuring additional Graceland images, it will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl and DMM Copper mastered at Abbey Road Studios,London.

Dixieland Delight

On May 18, FTD will be releasing a 2-CD set called DIXIELAND DELIGHT. Featuring concert performances from May 31, 1975 and June 1, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama, it’s released in cooperation with the forthcoming multimedia box set release by Bud Glass and Praytome Publishing. 

Elvis was truly inspired by the superb reaction he received in Huntsville, selling out five shows. It’s the only time in his career that he did so many consecutive performances in one City.

On March 23, 2009 the Follow That Dream Collector's label will release a 2CD version of the "Standing Room Only" album. From the press release: "as you know the album was never officially released and it's possible that the version we create was never meant to be, but it's the best way we can present the Las Vegas masters from February of 1972 and the masters and out-takes from the March 1972 sessions at RCA".

The album will also be released on vinyl, it should be released with the FTD April title.

The label is also planning two more CDs for the first half of 2009; scheduled for release mid-April and mid-May.
